No. 26 Tigers defeat Troy 7-0 Wednesday

Auburn, Ala. - The No. 26 Auburn Tigers defeated the Trojans of Troy 7-0 Wednesday at the Luther Young Tennis Comlex. Auburn took the doubles point and all six singles points.

Winning the doubles point for the Tigers was Terence Nugent and Nick Lane in the number three doubles spot.

In the number one singles spot, Robbert Lathouwers came from a one set deficit to defeat Irving Morales. Freshman Lukas Marsoun, competing in the number four spot, also played into three sets and reined victorious.

"This is what we needed," said head Coach Eric Shore. "We knew this would be tough and we won some tough matches today. I was glad that we took charge in doubles. We knew singles would be a battle, but the guys did well today. We have some things to build on, but I am proud of the guys. "

Auburn moves to 4-0 on the season.

The Tigers will be back in action Sunday, Feb. 12, to take on the No. 47 Oklahoma Sooners at the Luther Young Tennis Complex.
