AUBURN, Ala. -
The Auburn cross country team will open its 2006 season on Friday, Sept. 1 at the Fourth Annual Cougar Invitational hosted by Columbus State. The meet will begin at 5 p.m. CT with the women's 3K, followed by the men's 5K at 5:30. The meet will be held at Smiths Station High School Sports Complex in Smiths Station, Ala.
"It is a nice introduction to racing for the kids this year," head coach Pete Watson said. "I just want to see where these athletes are in terms of fitness and focus, and this is a nice race where they can really compete well."
