Auburn, Ala. - The Auburn University Athletics Department is one of many schools participating in 17th Annual National Sportsmanship Day Program. The program, administered by the Institute for International Sport, was developed to create an awareness of the issues of ethics, fair play and sportsmanship within athletics and in the broader context of society.
Numerous elementary schools, middle schools, high schools and colleges/universities will join Auburn in celebrating sportsmanship. Auburn's National Sportsmanship week will kick off on Friday, March 9, with several student-athletics speaking to a group of local fifth graders that will be visiting Auburn's campus.
A sportsmanship DVD will be shown at the Auburn versus Alabama Gymnastics meet on Friday, March 16, and the A-Day football game on Saturday, March 17.
