Tigers in Second Place after Round Two at LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic

BATON ROUGE, La. - The fourth-ranked Auburn women's golf team shot a second-round 290 Saturday to move into second place at the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic, played at the par 72, 6,338-yard University Golf Club in Baton Rouge.

"We played much better today," Auburn head coach Kim Evans said. "We got solid rounds from Nicole (Hage) and Candace (Schepperle) and are right where we need to be heading into the last 18 holes tomorrow."

The Tigers (299-290--589) trail top-ranked Duke (298-288--586) by just three strokes heading into Sunday's final round. Three SEC teams round out the top five as Vanderbilt (294-298--592) is third, Tennessee (298-299--597) is fourth and Alabama (301-298--599) is fifth.

Nicole Hage (72-72--144) is the highest individual Tiger on the leader board in a tie for fourth after shooting a second-straight round at even par. Marisa Milligan (75-70--145) carded a two-under 70 and sits in a tie for seventh at 1-over, while Candace Schepperle (74-73--147) is tied for 12th at 3-over. Mariana Macias (78-75--153) rebounded from first-day 78 to shoot a 75 and move into a tie for 37th at 9-over, and Margaret Shirley (80-75--155) is tied for 52nd at 11-over. Abigale Schepperle (77-75--152), who is playing as an individual, is tied for 31st at 8-over par.
