Paul Burnside gave the Tigers 7.0 innings of very good baseball, striking out a career-high nine while walking just two, but No. 13 Ole Miss found just enough offense to scrap out a 4-2 win over the Auburn baseball team on Friday night at Plainsman Park.

Ole Miss (20-8, 4-3 Southeastern Conference) got a two-run homer from Cody Overbeck in the fourth and a tacked on a run in the seventh on Brett Basham's RBI groundout to give Burnside (4-1) his first loss of the season in what was the longest outing of his career. The Rebels then added an insurance run in the ninth with Logan Power's solo shot off of Brett Butts.

Auburn (19-10, 0-7 SEC), which out-hit Ole Miss 6-4, got all of its runs courtesy of Mike Bianucci's eighth home run of the season, a two run blast just to the left of the batter's eye in dead center in the bottom of the fourth.

Will Kline (4-1) went the distance for Ole Miss, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out 11.

The two teams return to the field on Saturday at 2pm CT. Sophomore Evan Crawford (3-2) goes to the hill for Auburn while Lance Lynn (2-2) gets the ball for Ole Miss.
