Tiger Golfer Margaret Shirley Named To SEC Community Service Team

Birmingham, Ala. - Auburn junior Margaret Shirley has been named to the SEC Community Service Team, as announced by the league office.

Shirley, a Roswell, Ga., native, earned the honor through her devotion to community service. The communications major visited Costa Rica on a mission trip with her church in Georgia. With her Auburn teammates, Shirley helped build a house for Habitat-for-Humanity earlier this year.

As a member of the Auburn Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Shirley assisted in Trick-or-Treat in downtown Auburn and with Student-Athlete Day. Shirley also volunteers her time as part of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Leadership Team.

The Tigers will resume play on May 10-12 at the NCAA Regional. The NCAA Selection committee will announce the regional selections on April 30 at 3 p.m. CT on www.ncaasports.com. The NCAA Championship will be held on May 22-25 at the LPGA International Course in Daytona Beach, Fla.
