AUBURN, Ala. - The fifth-ranked Auburn women's golf team is in sixth place after round one of the Mason Rudolph Women's Championship. The 54-hole tournament is being played at the Vanderbilt Legends Club on the Ironhorse Course, a par 72, 6,217- yard course.

The Tigers finished the day with even par 288, but trail tournament leader Arizona State by eight strokes. Other teams ahead of Auburn are UCLA, Arizona, Duke and Florida.

Auburn sophomore Candace Schepperle is the Tigers individual leader as she is tied for sixth after shooting a 3-under 69. Schepperle is followed by freshman Cydney Clanton, who shot a one-under 71 and is currently tied for 17th place.

Competing as an individual, junior Mariana Macias is tied for 24th place after shooting even par 72, along with senior Margaret Shirley.

Freshman Sarah Thead shot a 4-over 76 (62nd place) and sophomore Marisa Milligan was not far behind shooting a 5-over 77 (67th place) to conclude play for the Tigers.

Auburn will tee-off the second round Saturday morning beginning with Marisa Milligan at 8:45 CT. The Tigers will play the round with Duke and Florida. Live scoring is available at www.golfstat.com and daily updates can be found at www.auburntigers.com.
