Auburn Women's Golf Falls to Eighth Place after Round Two at Mason Rudolph Championship

AUBURN - The Auburn women's golf team falls to eighth place after round two on Saturday of the 2007 Mason Rudolph Women's Championship. The 54-hole tournament is being played at the Vanderbilt Legends Club on the Ironhorse Course, a par 72, 6,217- yard course.

The Tigers (288-301-589) finished the day with a 13-over 301, eighteen strokes behind tournament leader UCLA (281-283-564), which wrapped the day up with a 5-under 283. Auburn will start round three on Sunday three strokes behind Southern California (291-295-586) and five strokes behind Florida (285-299-584) and Oklahoma State (292-292-584).

Freshman Cydney Clanton (71-71-142) led the Tigers today with a one-under 71and now sits in eighth place. She is followed by sophomore Candace Schepperle (69-76-145), who shot a 4-over 76. Senior Margaret Shirley (72-77-149) shot a 5-over 77, while freshman Sarah Thead (76-77-153) moved up a position after shooting 5-over 77. Sophomore Marisa Milligan (77-83-160) shot an 11-over 83.

Competing as an individual, junior Mariana Macias (72-75-147) completed the day in 27th after shooting a 3-over 75.

Auburn will tee-off the third round Sunday morning beginning with Marisa Milligan at 7:30 CT. The Tigers will play the round with Southern California and Georgia. Live scoring is available at www.golfstat.com and daily updates can be found at www.auburntigers.com.
