AUBURN, Ala. -Auburn was able to come back from another early 1-0 deficit to upend the Vanderbilt Commodores 2-1 Sunday at the Auburn University Soccer Complex. Rebecca Howell and Chelsea Yauch did the damage for the Tigers.

"We need to work on starting strong," Auburn Head Coach Karen Hoppa said. "Obviously, you don't want to start a game out down 1-0. We showed a lot of character today, because it is hard to come from behind in this league. Chelsea was able to tie it up for us and that showed her character."

Auburn trailed early, as Vanderbilt's Hannah Gonzales was able to get the ball past Allison Whitworth only three minutes into the game. Chelsea Yauch answered back when she found the back of the net off of an assist by Rebecca Howell.

"We had a good week of practice this week," Yauch said. "I think we are ready for the SEC. We are going to be ready to play no matter who we go up against."

Rebecca Howell gave the Tigers the lead when she scored the eventual game-winning goal from just inside the 6 off of the assist from Caitlyn King. Howell had a huge weekend, with assists and goals in both the Friday and Sunday matches. Allison Whitworth picked up the win, collecting four saves along the way.

Auburn goes on a road-trip next weekend as they travel to Ole Miss on Friday and Mississippi State on Sunday. The Tigers return to the Auburn University Soccer Complex on Oct. 12, when they play host to the LSU Tigers.
