Tuscaloosa, Ala. - The seventh-ranked Auburn women's golf team moved to fifth place after second round play at the UA-Ann Rhoads Intercollegiate at the NorthRiver Golf Club in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The Tigers shot 16-over 300 and are six strokes out of the top spot.
Arkansas leads the team race after shooting 16-over 300. The Lady Razorbacks are followed by Louisville (596) and Notre Dame (598). Furman is one stroke ahead of Auburn in fourth (600). Auburn leads SEC foes Alabama (7th), Florida (8th), South Carolina (t-9th), LSU (t-9th), Ole Miss (11th), Kentucky (t-12th) and Mississippi State (15th).
Furman's Stefanie Kenoyer (144) and Arkansas' Stacy Lewis (144) sit atop the individual leaderboard, followed by a three-way tie for third. Auburn's top performer was Candace Schepperle who shot 1-over 72 and is tied for 15th. Schepperle had four birdies on the day, which made up for her four bogeys. Cydney Clanton is also tied for 15th after shooting 7-over 77. She had an uncharacteristic seven bogeys or worse.
Margaret Shirley and Marisa Milligan are tied for 24th. Shirley shot 3-over 74, while Milligan fired 5-over 76. Competing as an individual, Sarah Thead is also tied for 24th. Thead shot 9-over 80. Abigale Schepperle did not compete today due to an injury, so the Tigers played with just four in the lineup.
