Women's Golf Gets First Round Win At Hooters Collegiate Match Play

Kissimmee, Fla. - The No. 3 seed Auburn women's golf team made short work of No. 14 South Carolina Sunday morning at the Hooters Collegiate Match Play in Kissimmee, Fla. Second round play was suspended due to darkness and will resume at 7:30 a.m. on Monday morning.

In the opening round, Auburn beat South Carolina, 4-0-1. Candace Schepperle, Marisa Milligan and Sarah Thead all won 2 and 1, while Margaret Shirley won by one over Whitney Simons. Schepperle defeated Blythe Worley, Milligan got past Taylor Barrett and Thead was the winner over Erika Holmen. Cydney Clanton and South Carolina's Benedicte Toumpsin finished all square.
