MOBILE, Ala. (AP) -- Quan Prowell scored 21 points in only his second game of the season and Quantez Robertson hit two free throws with 26 seconds left to help Auburn hold on for a 71-63 victory over Southern on Saturday.

Prowell, who was suspended for the first five games for violating team rules, made 8 of 10 shots and hit four 3-pointers for the Tigers (5-2).

He had managed just four points and two rebounds in his season debut against West Virginia.

Jazz Williams' basket and two free throws helped Southern (1-7) close to within 66-63 with 56 seconds left, but Southern couldn't score again. Auburn managed to work time off the clock before Southern was forced to foul Robertson.

DeWayne Reed added a basket in the final seconds for Auburn, which shot 55 percent from the floor.

The game was part of the Coors Classic at the University of South Alabama.

Rasheem Barrett scored 15 of his 18 points in the first half and had 10 rebounds for Auburn. Korvotney Barber, who is leading the nation in field goal percentage, made 7-of-9 shots for 15 points. Robertson had eight points and nine assists.

Williams led Southern, which has lost seven straight games, with 14 points and made four 3-pointers. Joe Holiday added 11 points.
