Fayetteville, Ark./ AMES, Iowa - The Auburn track and field squads recorded impressive marks at their two final meets before the SEC indoor championships.

"This was a big weekend of competition for us", said head coach Ralph Spry. "It was very important to have a solid showing this weekend with SEC Indoor Championships being a week away".

On the final day of competition, Joby Peake (9:06.46) and Laurel Pritchard (10:12.20) competed for Auburn in the men's and women's 3000m. The shorter races saw action from six Tigers. Amber Riley (2:17.48) and Sabrina Fischer (2:15.83) raced for the Tigers in the 800m. Riley (5:04.30), Fischer (5:02.93), and Jessica Smith (5:05.68) competed in the mile run. Scott Novack was the sole competitor for the men in the mile run with a time of 4:15.54.

Joanna Atkins ran an impressive race. Atkins finished third in the finals, but second among collegians with a time of 53.07. In the high jump, Raevan Harris improved on her mark with a bound of 5-11.50. The women's 4X400 relay finished 10th improving their time to 3:39.59.

Reuben McCoy (47.50) and Bernard Spivey (50.08) both competed in the 400m for the Tigers. In the 60m, Stephen Fly raced to a time of 6.92 and Brandon Johnson excelled to a time of 7.03. In the men's 60mh, Ty Akins (7.82) competed along side world class hurdlers.

The Tigers will resume competition next week at the SEC Indoor Track and Field Championships in Fayetteville, Ark., starting on Feb. 29.
