Auburn (15-6, 3-3 SEC) was unstoppable in the second half scoring 33 points to cruise past Mississippi State (14-8, 2-5 SEC), 68-42 in Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum. Auburn moved to 29-12 all-time vs. Mississippi State and 18-2 when playing in Auburn.

Cassie Moore scored a career best 17 points, and led the team for the first time this season.

"I was really proud of how she responded today," head coach Nell Fortner said of Moore. "She was quick on her feet and she had great focus on her finishes and really made a difference with offensive rebounds."

Auburn flew out of the gate to start to second half with a 21-4 run to go up by 30 in the first 12 minutes. Mississippi State fought back with 16 points in the last five minutes, but it was not enough to combat Auburn's early run.

Mississippi State kept a slight lead for most of the first four minutes of the ballgame, but Auburn quickly changed the dynamic with a slue of rebounds and second chance baskets.

Auburn led 35-22 at halftime thanks to six points by Moore off the bench and the six more from Sherell Hobbs. DeWanna Bonner was perfect from the free throw line, going 5-for-5 and ended the half with nine points and six rebounds.

"I have been working with coach Fortner and our post coach on my low post moves, which has really given me confidence in my game," Moore said. "I have also been working with the guards, which has gotten us all on the same page. All these things are what really helped me today."

Bonner earned her ninth double-double of the season with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Bonner also made 7-of-7 free throws, marking the seventh time this season she has been perfect from the line. Hobbs finished with 12 points, marking the ninth straight game and 37th time in her career she has been in double figures.

Mississippi State had three players scoring in double figures led by Marneshia Richard's 12 points. Alabama native Robin Porter added 10 as did Mary Kathryn Govero, eight of which came in the final three minutes of regulation. Tysheka Grimes grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Lady Bulldogs defense.

Auburn goes on the road to face Florida Feb. 7, at 6 p.m. CT in Gainesville, Fla. The Tigers continue travels on Sunday at Arkansas for a 2 p.m. CT contest.
