No. 16 Auburn In 12th After Second Round Of The SEC Tournament

ST. SIMON'S ISLAND, GA. - The No. 16 Auburn golf team carded second round 301 and is currently in 12th place at the 2008 SEC Golf Tournament at the par-72, 7,217-yard Frederica Golf Club on St. Simon's Island, Ga., Saturday.

Senior Jay Moseley (73-148) leads all Tigers and is tied for 26th, moving up four spots from Friday. Senior Patton Kizzire (74-151) is tied for 41st, junior Glenn Northcutt (76-152) and senior Gordon Strother (79-152) are tied for 44th and senior Jamie Bowen (78-156) is tied for 56th.

Auburn was 7-over after the first 12 holes of the day but dropped a stroke per hole on the home stretch to close out at 13-over.

"We just haven't been able to put anything together on this golf course," said head coach Mike Griffin. "We need to go out in the final round and try to turn things around to give us momentum going into the NCAA Regional."

No. 2 Alabama (293-578) is currently in the lead followed by No. 1 Georgia (291-581), No. 7 Florida (292-582), No. 14 South Carolina (289-583), No. 9 Tennessee (287-583), Mississippi State (292-585), Ole Miss (290-588), LSU (297-589), Vanderbilt (292-592), Kentucky (300-598), Arkansas (292-600) and Auburn (301-602).

Alabama's Joseph Sykora (73-141) is currently atop the individual leader board followed by LSU's Jarrod Barsamian (70-142) and Tennesee's (70-142).
