AUBURN - Due to a record number of entries, the 2008 Tiger Invitational will run two sections of men's and women's races Saturday at Indian Pines Golf Course.
The 12-team 5K women's blue race will be an 8:45 a.m. start with the following teams running: Alabama A&M, Alabama State, Anderson, Chattahoochee Tech, Columbus State, Darton, Georgia Southern, King College, Mercer, West Alabama, West Florida and West Georgia.
Following at 9:30 a.m. will be the 24-team 5K women's orange Mel Rosen race with the following teams competing: Arkansas State, Auburn, Austin Peay, Clemson, Emory, Florida Atlantic, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Jacksonville State, Kennesaw State, Lamar, LSU, McNeese State, Oregon State, Purdue, Samford, Southeast Louisiana, Stephen F. Austin, Troy, Tulane and Washington.
The 27-team men's 8K orange Mel Rosen race will begin at 10:15 a.m. with the following teams: Arkansas State, Auburn, Austin Peay, Clemson, Emory, Florida Atlantic, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Jacksonville State, Kennesaw State, Lamar, Louisiana Tech, Seminole Distance Project, LSU, McNeese State, Oregon State, Purdue, Samford, Southeast Louisiana, Stephen F. Austin, Troy, Tulane, UL-Lafayette and Washington.
The final race of the day will be an 11 a.m. start for the 15-team 8K men's blue race. Competing will be: Alabama, Alabama State, Anderson, Chattahoochee Tech, Columbus State, Darton, King College, Mercer, Morehouse, Southwestern Community College, Truett-McConnell, West Alabama, West Florida and West Georgia.
