JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - The Auburn men's golf team (300-894) remained in 12th following third-round play at the par-72, 7,147-yard Ridges Golf Club on Sunday.
Junior Cole Moreland (72-220) led all Tigers in a tie for 19th, senior Glenn Northcutt (72-223) finished 36th, freshman Rossen Anderson (76-227) tied for 46th, freshman Kyle Kopsick (80-228) tied for 53rd and freshman Cory Gilmer (85-237) finished 70th.
"We had our worst round here today," said head coach Mike Griffin. "Glenn's (Northcutt) and Cole's (Moreland) 72s would be the highlight. I've been trying to get everybody ready for these ups-and-downs.
"The more experienced players stepped up and the young guys let it slip today. That's what happens with youngsters. This is not the way you end the fall but we'll use it as motivation to continue improving and finish high in Hawaii."
Coastal Carolina (291-869) claimed the team title followed by East Tennessee State (292-870), Wake Forest (295-871), North Carolina State (290-875), Ole Miss (297-877), North Carolina (290-883), Missouri (299-887), No. 7 Tennessee (296-887), UAB (298-888), Virginia (296-889), Kent State (295-893), Auburn (300-894), Vanderbilt (308-896) and Ohio State (299-898).
NC State's Darren Blair (70-210) took medalist honors followed by a four-way tie for second.
Auburn golf returns to action Feb. 18 at the John Burns Intercollegiate at the Leilehua Golf Course in Wahiawa, Hawaii.
