Auburn Men's Golf 12th After Second Round of Southern Highlands

Las Vegas, Nev. - The Auburn men's golf team shot a 12-over 300 and is in 12th place after the second round of the Southern Highlands Collegiate Championship with a two-day total of 602 (302-300) at the par 72, 7,510-yard Southern Highlands Golf Club in Las Vegas, Nev.

Junior Cole Moreland paced Auburn on Saturday, firing an even-par 72 and is tied for 31st overall with 36-hole total of 148.

Senior Glenn Northcutt carded the Tigers second-best round of the day with a three-over 75 and has a two-day total of eight over par (152). Northcutt is tied for 51st overall.

"We played better today as a team," Tigers' head coach Mike Griffin said. "Our players are still struggling with the speed of the greens, but I am pleased that our freshmen are getting to play in this field on this great course."

Freshmen John Stembridge, Kyle Kopsick and John Stembridge turned in rounds of 76 (+4), 77 (+5) and 81 (+9), respectively. Stembridge and Kopsick are both tied for 46th on the individual leader board at 151. McCurdy is 76th at +18.

No. 3 Oklahoma State is leading the team competition after firing a remarkable 18-under 270 on Saturday for a two-day total of 561. The Cowboys have a 12 stroke advantage over second place UNLV who is at 573 (285-288). Arizona is third at 576 (287-289).

Moran Hoffman of Oklahoma State carded a 10-under 62 on during the second round, moving up 12 spots to lead the individual leader board at 134. Hoffman holds a three stroke advantage over Georgia Tech's Cameron Tringale (67-70, 137).
