AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn junior cross country runner Holly Knight has been named the SEC Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

The Devon, England, native placed second out of 92 runners at this past weekend's Crimson Classic with a conference-leading 5k time of 17:16.90. Knight finished 3.5 seconds behind the race winner and 20 seconds before the race's third-place finisher in Alabama's Kelsey Johnson.

With the second-place finish, Knight has now finished first and second in both of her races this season after winning the two-mile Troy Trojan Invitational to open the season with a two-mile time of 10:55.46.

After an off week, the Tigers return to the trails on Oct. 3 as the squad heads to the Wisconsin Badger Invite in Madison, Wisc.
