Auburn, Ala. (AP) -- No. 18 Ole Miss shot 56.7 percent from the field and was led by Chris Warren's 20 points and Terrico White's 19 points en route to an 84-74 victory over Auburn in Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum on Thursday. Tay Waller scored a season-high 21 points for the Tigers on 5-of-11 3-point shooting.

Leading 62-61 with 7:47 remaining, Ole Miss (16-4, 4-2) used a 16-4 run in 3:20 to take command at 78-67 on a White jumper with 4:27 left. Auburn didn't get closer than nine points the rest of the way.

'It's pretty standard for us to get to the eight minute mark, be right there and not be able to finish it out,' said Auburn head coach Jeff Lebo. 'I feel for the kids. We had five turnovers with 14 more shots with the same amount of free throws. You feel good about that. We couldn't finish.'

Auburn (10-11, 1-5) led 11-4 four minutes into the game and 17-11 seven minutes in, but Ole Miss used a 9-1 run to take a 20-18 lead. The game was close for the remainder of the first half as Brendon Knox made a conventional 3-point play with three seconds left to give the Tigers a 41-38 halftime lead.

The Tigers built their lead to 45-40 only to have the Rebels go on an 11-2 run to take a 51-47 lead on another White jumper with 14:36 to play.

'We always play with a lot more energy in the first half than in the second half,' said Waller. 'We come out flat in the second half sometimes, and it is hard for us to pick it up. Over the course of the game, we show spurts in the second half like we do in the first, but for some reason, we cannot keep it up.'

Auburn committed only a season low five turnovers, just missing the school record low of three against Georgia in 1970.

DeWayne Reed added 15 points and seven assists, Lucas Hargrove had 11 points, eight rebounds and four assists, and Brendon Knox 10 points and six rebounds.

Auburn shot only 36.5 percent from the field for the game and 30.6 percent from 3-point range (11-of-36) while Ole Miss shot a torrid 65.4 percent in the second half. The Rebels outscored the Tigers 46-24 in the paint and outrebounded Auburn 40-35.

Auburn plays host to Alabama on Saturday at 3 pm Central on the SEC Network. Tickets are $20 each.
