Auburn Swimmers Compete At Ralph Crocker Classic

AUBURN, Ala. - A handful of Auburn swimmers took part in the fourth-annual Ralph Crocker Classic at the James E. Martin Aquatic Center this weekend. The meet featured 750 athletes from several local club teams, as well as Auburn current and former student-athletes.

A trio of Tigers recorded best times in 50 free on Friday evening. Senior captain Tyler McGill recorded a season-best time of 20.38, while classmate Kyle Maese had a season-best time of 21.38. Freshman Mason Chenier set a career-best time in the event, finishing in 21.07.

Freshman Brandon Siemasko swam in the 500 free, picking up a career-best time of 4:39.55.

Junior Caitlin Geary hit a season-best mark in the 50 free, clocking in at 23.44 to take first in the event. Freshman Laura Johnson set a career-best in the 200 IM, touching the wall in 2:09.42.

Former Auburn swimmers also participating in the meet were George Bovell, Bryan Lundquist, Mark Gangloff and Matt Targett.

The Tigers close out the regular season with a dual against Emory at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center on Feb. 6. Auburn will honor its 13 seniors prior to the 11 a.m. meet.
