Auburn Men's Cross Country Tabbed Fifth Women Seventh In SEC Coaches Preseason Poll

AUBURN, Ala. -- The Auburn men's cross country team was picked fifth and the women were picked seventh in the 2010 SEC Cross Country Coaches preseason poll, the league office announced Wednesday.

Alabama was tabbed to finish first in the men's poll after collecting seven first-place votes, while Arkansas had four first-place votes to rank second. Florida was tabbed third, followed by Georgia in fourth, and Tennessee was tied with the Tigers for fifth.

In the women's poll, Florida was unanimously selected to win the conference with Arkansas and Georgia picked second and third respectively. There was a three-way tie for fourth-place between Alabama, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

Auburn cross country begins its 2010 season Saturday Sept. 4 at the Troy Invitational, where the Tigers swept team and individual titles a year ago.
