Pair Of Divers Win Titles At Tennessee Diving Invite

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Redshirt senior Dan Mazzaferro and junior Anna Aguero picked up wins on day two of the Tennessee Diving Invitational Tuesday at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Tennessee.

"It was a very good day today and I'm very pleased with the whole team's performance," head diving coach Jeff Shaffer said. "It is very rewarding it see their hard work pay off and the results were very favorable for us today."

Mazzaferro captured the three-meter springboard title after recording a score of 397.65 points. He opened the day finishing second in the preliminaries with 372.10 points. Freshman John Santeiu IV continued to have a great meet as he finished fourth with a career-best score of 358.60. Junior Adam Godzinski took ninth overall with 330.80 points.

Aguero finished the day with a first-place finish on the one-meter springboard. The Moultrie, Ga., product took the event with a score of 290.10 points. Classmate Vennie Dantin concluded the day with a third-place finish on the one-meter after earning 286.20 points.

The Tennessee Diving Invitational concludes Wednesday as both the men and women compete on the platform event.
