AWENDAW, S.C. - The sixth-ranked Auburn (288-569) men's golf team finished a stormy second round of the Hootie at Bulls Bay in fourth place, six strokes back of team leader and defending national champion Augusta State (282-563) Monday at the Bulls Bay Golf Club in Awendaw, S.C.

The day began with a lighting delay of over two hours as strong storms moved through the area.

Junior Cory Gilmer (71-141) and sophomore Blayne Barber (74-141) lead the Tigers in a tie for 10th. Junior Kyle Kopsick (71-144) is tied for 22nd followed by freshman Niclas Carlsson (72-145) tied for 29th and sophomore Michael Hebert (75-146) tied for 35th.

"The weather didn't do any favors for anybody today," said Auburn head coach Nick Clinard. "We started out the day with a pretty long delay. We are still within strinking distance of the lead. A lot can happen over a two or three hole stretch."

Auburn will enter Tuesday's final round trailing No.9 Augusta State, No. 13 LSU (284-565) and Wake Forest (288-568) while holding a one-stroke advantage over No. 7 Texas A&M (288-570). The 15-team field at the 2011 Hootie features four top-10 and eight top-25 teams including No. 5 Florida, No. 9 Augusta State, No. 15 Virginia, No. 21 N.C. State and No. 22 Duke.
