AUBURN - Storms caused an interruption to the War Eagle Invitational hosted by the Auburn track and field teams Friday evening, postponing half of Friday's eight events until Saturday.

The only events completed Friday were the men's hammer throw, the women's javelin and the men's and women's invitational 1500-meter races. The postponed field events will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday, while the invitational 5,000 meter races will be added Saturday evening after the 4x400-meter relays.

Auburn had a limited number of competitors on Friday, highlighted by a pair of fourth-place finishes. In the men's hammer throw, redshirt freshman Stephen Saenz improved his personal best with a mark of 56.39 meters (185-0) that ranks 10th in Auburn history. In the women's 1500 meters, senior Stephanie Barnes finished in fourth place with a season-best time of 4:38.70

The rest of the War Eagle Invitational will take place on Saturday. Field events are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. with running events beginning at Noon. The meet, which is free and open to the public, is scheduled to conclude at approximately 8:30 p.m.
