DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Auburn women's golf team concluded its 2010-11 season Saturday at the NCAA East Regional Championship, finishing 13th with a 39-over-par 903. The Tigers carded a 14-over 302 in the final round of the tournament.

The NCAA East Regional was one of three qualifying tournaments for the NCAA Championship, set for May 18-21 at the Traditions Club at Texas A&M in College Station, Texas. The top eight teams from each of the three regionals will advance to the NCAA Championship.

The NCAA Central Regional is taking place at Warren Golf Course, hosted by Notre Dame University in South Bend, Indiana, while the NCAA West Regional is being played at the Washington National Golf Club in Auburn, Wash., hosted by the University of Washington.

"It is a disappointing way to finish the season, but we had a lot of success this year, including the SEC Championship, and some bright spots for the future," said Auburn head coach Kim Evans. "We will say goodbye to a great player in Cydney Clanton, who will go down as one of the best ever for Auburn. But, we have some very good players returning next year and we are excited about what we saw out of them this year."

Clanton, a native of Concord, N.C., was the top Tiger at the tournament, carding a final-round 72 to tie for 31st with a 6-over 222.

Five strokes behind Clanton were freshman Marta Sanz and junior Haley Wilson in a tie for 52nd with 11-over 227s. Sanz carded a 4-over 76 on Saturday while Wilson posted a 6-over 78.
