Bishop, Ga. - The No. 1 Auburn equestrian team lost to No. 3 Georgia 10-8 at the UGA Equestrian Complex on Friday, as the Bulldogs claimed all four MVP honors.

"We rode really well today," head coach Greg Williams said. "We needed just one more of the scores to go our way so we could have gone to the raw scores."

Auburn won Equitation on the Flat, 3-2. Maggie McAlary led the charge defeating Megan Southam, 85-75, while Anna Becker beat Olivia Dorey, 83-80. Also earning her point was Christina Lin who barely edged Grace Rogers, 84-83.

Georgia won Equitation Over Fences 3-2 as Jennifer Waxman beat Kylee Arbuckle, 84-74, while Maggie McAlary defeated Abby O'Mara, 84-75.

Auburn took Horsemanship, 2-1. Winning points for the Tigers were Katsy Leeman, who defeated Katelyn van Allen, 74-72, and Indy Roper, who beat Paige Stawicki, 77-75.5. Both Stephanie Rucci and Kristin Hansen tied with their opponents.

Georgia came away with a convincing 4-1 win in Reining. Earning the single point for Auburn was Stephanie Rucci who defeated Lauren Tieche, 68.5-67.

"Georgia is a great team and they never let up," Williams said. "They get to celebrate a win tonight, but I am really proud of our team's performance on the road. At least this will put a burn in us when we crank it back up in January. I don't think we would have been complacent, but we won't be now, that's for sure."

Auburn closes the fall portion of the schedule with a 6-1 record. The team returns to action when it opens the spring portion of the schedule against Oklahoma State on Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Auburn University Horse Center.
