TALLAHASSEE, Fla.---Michael Snaer scored a game-high 22 points and Ian Miller added 14 points to lead Florida State to an 85-56 victory over Auburn in the Donald L. Tucker Center on Wednesday.
Florida State (9-5) went on a 20-0 run after Rob Chubb picked up his second foul less than three minutes into the game to take a 24-5 lead as the Tigers went scoreless for almost eight minutes.
The Seminoles held the Tigers to 15.2 percent shooting from the field on 5-of-33 while shooting 63.3 percent to take a commanding 50-16 halftime lead.
Auburn (10-4) outscored Florida State in the second half 40-35.
"We have a long way to go and have to grow up and need to show some maturity on the road," said Auburn head coach Tony Barbee. "It is part of the learning process, and this team is still learning. Florida State shot it very well tonight, but we didn't defend at all."
Chris Denson led the Tigers with 15 points and Kenny Gabriel added 10 points, seven rebounds and three blocks and two steals. Frankie Sullivan scored nine points but was only 3-of-16 shooting from the field.
For the game, Auburn was outshot 53.7 percent to 32.3 percent from the field and was outrebounded 45-30.
The Tigers open SEC play at Vanderbilt on Saturday at 12:47 pm Central in Memorial Gymnasium. The game is televised on the SEC Network.
