Women's Tennis Takes Doubles Point, Comes Up Short to GT

AUBURN - No. 62 Auburn women's tennis came out strong with a doubles point win against No. 25 Georgia Tech on Wednesday afternoon at the Yarbrough Tennis Center, but came up short in the match, 5-2.

Auburn (7-6) took the early lead on Wednesday behind a pair of key doubles wins. After dropping the match on court three, the team of Jen Pfeifler and Paulina Schippers delivered a pivotal 8-5 win over Georgia Tech's Jillian O'Neill and Alex Anghelescu, the nation's ninth-rated doubles tandem.

The Tigers then secured the doubles point and the early lead with Emily Flickinger and Jackie Kasler's 8-3 victory over Lynn Blau and Elizabeth Kilborn at the first line.

Jackie Kasler picked up her fourth-straight singles win at No. 4 with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Anghelescu. Kasler has now won 5-of-6 and stands at 9-4 this spring and 16-8 overall this season.
