My niece, Jamie (aka Jane the 2nd), bought her first Fraser Fir Christmas tree this year. It is an 8-foot tall, beautiful tree, shaped perfectly and ready for Christmas ornaments. She also lives in a 'house divided'. Her and oldest son, Seth (12) (whose first words ever heard, was me saying "War Eagle!'), are AUBURN fans and her husband and youngest son, Dylan (8), Alabama fans.
Years ago, I'd given Jamie her first AUBURN Christmas ornament. She had also collected others...but mine was 'Special' because it came from 'Aunt Jane.' Well on this happy day of putting up the tree, just a couple of weeks ago, Jamie could not find her main box of Christmas decorations. Decorations which included her children's first hand-made ornaments, baby ornaments, all the special things a mother keeps and places on the Christmas tree forever.
Somehow, that box of memories must have been thrown away with last year's trash. Jamie called me crying, sobbing. She actually cried for days. When she was telling me about what had happened, one of the first things she mentioned was the AUBURN Christmas ball I'd given her. She was devastated about everything!
Since then she has recovered somewhat from the heartbreak and bought new ornaments and many friends and family have given her new things to place on the tree. I know you can guess what she's getting from me this Christmas...Yes, a Beautiful new orange and blue Christmas ornament! (And a scarf!) I can hardly wait to give it to her!!!
I am 'Aunt Jane'.... I'm sure she expects it!! I love her and AUBURN!!
War Eagle and Merry Christmas!!!
