GAINESVILLE, Fla. - No. 18 Auburn fell to No. 2 Florida, 4-0, Sunday at the Linder Stadium at the Ring Tennis Complex to move to 14-4 for the season and 4-3 in conference play.
Doubles play was canceled due to inclement weather with the teams moving directly to singles action.
In singles, Florida's Olivia Janowicz defeated senior Plamena Kurteva 6-2, 6-2 on court five. At the top spot, No. 51 freshman Pleun Burgmans fell to the Gators No. 1 Lauren Embree 6-4, 6-3.
Sophomore Jen Pfeifler was defeated in a hard fought 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 match by No. 55 Alexandra Cercone on court three.
Florida's Briana Morgan clinched the match for the Gators defeating Jackie Kasler 6-2, 7-5 on court four.
The Tigers will return to action Friday, March 29 as they take on No. 16 Vanderbilt at 3 p.m. CT at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.
