AUBURN, Ala. - The Auburn women's soccer team fought to a scoreless draw to earn their first SEC point of the season on Friday night as the Tigers tied Georgia, 0-0 in double overtime. Auburn moves to 4-8-2 on the year, while freshman Alicen Wright accumulated seven saves and moved her record to 1-3-1.

"It was a great effort tonight," Auburn head coach Karen Hoppa said. "I was really proud of the way we played tonight. We battled hard and created chances. We changed some things around in practice this week and the girls really stepped up. The good thing is, we got a point. We have our first point of SEC play and that was key for us. We have to keep moving forward into next week."

Auburn's first scoring chance came in the first half as freshman Casie Ramsier was able to free herself in the box, but her first of four attempts scampered just left of the frame. The Tigers tallied six shots in the first half to Georgia's two, but weren't able to gain an advantage.

In the second half, the aggressiveness between the two teams picked up as 19 fouls were committed over the next three periods. Georgia's Nikki Hill picked up the first yellow card of the game in the 50th minute, while Auburn's Maddie Barnes was given a yellow card in the 62nd. The game's third yellow card went to Georgia's Marion Crowder in the 97th minute.

Auburn's offense picked up the pace late in the second half as junior Tori Ball nearly broke the tie, but Georgia's goalkeeper, Caitlin Woody, was able to corral the shot making one of her four saves. During the play, Casie Ramsier was able to get open just atop the box before finding Ball pacing down the right side. With just the goalkeeper to beat, Ball tried to bend one past Woody, but was stopped. Ball ended up with two shots for the night.

The Tigers will have the rest of the weekend off before hitting the road again next week for matches at Tennessee and Missouri. The match against Tennessee is set for Oct. 18 at 6 p.m., while the match against Missouri will be on Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. in Columbia.
