AUBURN, Ala. - No. 24 Auburn battled back from an early deficit for the second straight match as the Tigers knocked off Florida Gulf Coast, 5-2, on Friday night at the FGCU Tennis Complex.

Auburn (8-1) dropped the doubles point for the second straight match, but quickly regained ground in singles play against FGCU (1-5). Dennis Lengsfeld was the first Tiger off the court with a 6-2, 6-2 win on court two over FGCU's Tianyu Bao. Petar Tomic cruised to a 6-3, 6-0 victory on court three to put the Tigers in front 2-1.

No. 89 Dante Saleh moved his winning streak to 11 straight matches, taking down FGCU's Lucas Vaz 6-1, 6-4. Oliver Plaskett provided the clinching win to claim the match for the Tigers, posting a 6-4, 6-5 (5) win on court six over the Eagles' Lance Lvovsky.

No. 112 Daniel Cochrane provided the highlight of the night, ending the nation's longest winning streak as the senior downed FGCU's No. 66 Jordi Vives 2-6, 6-4, 6-2. Vives had not lost a match since Oct. 13, while the win was Cochrane's ninth straight victory.

FGCU's kept the Tigers from sweeping the singles as Joseph Van Dooren dropped a tough three-setter. The sophomore took the first set, but fell 5-6 (4), 6-4, 1-0 (7).

The Tigers had to overcome an early deficit has FGCU's Bao/Lvovsky secured the doubles point with a 6-5 (5) victory over Auburn's pair of Saleh/Tomic. Lengsfeld and Plasksett provided the Tigers with a 6-4 win on court 3.

Auburn returns to the road next weekend for a pair of matches against ACC foes. The Tigers face Georgia Tech on Friday, Feb. 14 before heading to Clemson on Sunday, Feb. 16.
