GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The No. 30 Auburn men's tennis team fell on the road to No. 16 Florida on Friday, dropping a 4-0 decision at Linder Stadium.

Auburn (14-6, 4-2 SEC) battled tough with Florida early in the doubles point as the Tigers' No. 1 pair of Daniel Cochrane and Oliver Plaskett picked up her their first win over a top-25 tandem in dual match play, defeating Florida's No. 11 Elliot Orkin and Gordon Watson, 8-5.

With the match tied at one apiece in doubles, Auburn's No. 2 duo of Dennis Lengsfeld and Lukas Ollert nearly secured the point for the Tigers, but ultimately fell in a tiebreaker to Florida's Mike Alford and Florent Diep, 8-7 (5).

In singles, Florida (8-6, 3-2 SEC) made it 2-0 when Mike Alford defeated Auburn's Joseph Van Dooren 6-4, 6-1 on court five. The Gators got another win at No. 6 as the Tigers' Petar Tomic fell to

Florida's 82nd-ranked Elliott Orkin 6-2, 6-2. The Gators clinched the match at the No. 4 line with Diego Hildalgo's 6-2, 6-2 win over Auburn's Dante Saleh.

No. 95 Cochrane was up a set in his match on court one when play was abandoned midway through the second set versus Florida's No. 106 Watson. Lengsfeld also won the first set in his match at No. 3, while Lukas Ollert was tied at 6-6 in the first heading to a tiebreaker when play was suspended.

The Tigers wrap up their three-match road swing on Sunday at South Carolina. The match is set to begin at 11 a.m. CT in Columbia, S.C.
