Auburn will be well represented as the Canadian Football League begins its 57th year of competition this weekend.
The CFL season opening matchup Thursday night will have two Auburn alums in action as the Winnipeg Blue Bombers host the Toronto Argonauts at Investors Group Field. Wide receiver Darvin Adams is in his second season with the Argonauts, while defensive back Demond Washington has been a mainstay of the Winnipeg secondary. Washington begins his third season with the Blue Bombers; he recorded 79 tackles and a pair of interceptions last season.
On Saturday, slotback Courtney Taylor takes the field for his third season with the BC Lions; Taylor came through with 61 catches for 774 yards and five scores for the Lions last season. BC hosts Edmonton Saturday at BC Place. Former Auburn assistant coach Phillip Lolley is coaching the Eskimos' linebackers.
Sunday evening, the defending Grey Cup champion Saskatchewan Roughriders host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Former Auburn defensive end Antonio Coleman is with Hamilton, after playing for Saskatchewan last season.
