COLUMBUS, Ohio - Auburn's volleyball team dropped its opening match at the Sports Imports D.C. Koehl Classic on Friday, falling to Ohio State, 3-0 (14-25, 14-25, 20-25) at St. John Arena.

The Tigers (2-2) hit a season-low .032 and could not overcome a strong attack and defensive effort from the Buckeyes (2-2).

"Obviously, we struggled with the pressure (Ohio State) put on us. Serving and passing was going to be a key and we didn't execute well in those areas," head coach Rick Nold said. They served aggressive throughout the match and we didn't respond. "We've got another game tonight to get prepared for and we'll have to be ready for Southern Illinois."

Stephanie Campbell led Auburn with eight kills and hit a team-high .278 in the loss. Courtney Crable and Emily Klizke added in six kills apiece.

Auburn's Alyssa Ivey had a team-best eight digs along with a service ace, while Mary Hannah Arrington collected seven digs.

Ohio State was led by Erin Sekinger's error-free performance as the senior posted 10 kills on 13 attempts and turned in a .769 hitting percentage. Libero Valeria Leon led the Buckeyes with a match-high 13 digs, while Taylor Sherwin recorded 17 assists.

Auburn was held to a season-low in hitting percentage (.032), kills (27) and assists (20), while Ohio State recorded 39 kills, a .390 hitting percentage and 34 assists along with 12 blocks in the match.

The Tigers return to action at 4:30 p.m. CT Friday to face Southern Illinois in their last match of the day at the Sports Imports D.C. Koehl Classic. Live stats for Friday afternoon's match can be found .
