COLUMBIA, Mo. - Auburn volleyball battled tough with Missouri for the first two sets, but fell 3-0 (23-25, 20-25, 14-25) on Friday at the Hearnes Center.

"I think the difference was serving and passing. Missouri put pressure on us and it's one of those things where we've got to be able to put pressure on teams," head coach Rick Nold said. "They're a good team, but I didn't feel like we executed the things we need to do to win on the road."

"I think sets one and two, we kept fighting. We were trying to overcome some bad play on our side. We continued to fight, but we've got to learn to not give up so many points."

Courtney Crable led Auburn (9-9, 1-4 SEC) with nine kills in the match, while Emily Klitzke collected eight on 14 swings and finished with a team-high .429 hitting percentage. Stephanie Campbell added in six kills in the sophomore's return to her home state, while Breanna Barksdale chipped in six kills along with three blocks.

Alexa Filley posted a match-high 31 assists along with six digs, four kills and three blocks. The freshman moved to fifth in the Auburn record book with 673 assists this season. Alyssa Ivey led the club with 11 digs, while Kelly Stewart added in six.

Missouri's (12-7, 3-2 SEC) Karly Can posted 11 kills and hit .435, while Whitney Little recorded 10 kills and hit .643 to pace the Tigers on their home floor. Loxley Keala finished with a team-best 16 assists, while Sarah Meister logged 13 digs.

Auburn and Missouri battled back and forth throughout the opening frame, which featured 13 ties and four lead changes. Tied at 23-23, Missouri got a kill from Can, her sixth of the frame, and then finished off the set with a block to grab a 1-0 lead. Five of Auburn's eight service errors came in the opening set, hampering the Tigers' chance to claim the first frame.

In the second set, Auburn cut the Missouri lead down to 20-19 but couldn't get closer. Missouri collected five of the next six points to take a 2-0 advantage into the locker room.

The Tigers will close out the weekend at No. 13 Kentucky on Sunday in Lexington, Ky. Match time is set for 11 a.m. at Memorial Coliseum and the contest can be seen live on the SEC Network.
