AUBURN, Ala. - The Auburn volleyball team could not overcome a strong offensive attack from Alabama as the Tigers fell 3-0 (12-25, 12-25, 19-15) to the Crimson Tide Wednesday at Auburn Arena.

"Bottom line we've got to prepare better. We knew what to expect from [Alabama] and we didn't do the little things we needed to do to win," head coach Rick Nold said. "We caught a little fire in game three and had some timely blocks, but the bottom line is that way we played and the effort we gave is unacceptable."

The Tigers (9-12, 1-7 SEC) dropped their fifth-straight match in league play as Alabama (17-5, 5-3 SEC) hit .369 with just six attack errors as the Tide finished the match with 47 kills. Wednesday night's match saw 1,101 fans fill the lower bowl at Auburn Arena, marking the third-best crowd since the Tigers moved to the facility and the seventh-best crowd all-time.

Stephanie Campbell led Auburn with 10 kills on 15 attempts, hitting a team-best .467. Emily Klitzke collected eight kills, while Courtney Crable chipped in six.

Alyssa Ivey logged a team-high 17 digs, while Kelly Stewart added in 10. Ivey has recorded 277 digs this season for the Tigers and is just eight away from moving into the top-10 in single-season history.

Alexa Filley posted 25 assists and fell just one dig short of picking up her 11th double-double of the season, finishing the match with nine digs. The freshman is just 25 assists shy of moving into second place in Auburn history.

Alabama was led by Kat Hutson and Brittany Thomas as the pair finished with a match-high 11 kills. Thomas also logged 11 digs to earn a double-double. Sierra Wilson posted 36 assists, while libero Natalie Murison notched 16 digs.

The Tigers get a nine-day break and return to action on Friday, Oct. 31 at Mississippi State with match time set for 6 p.m. in Starkville, Mississippi.
