TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Auburn senior Kane Grimster finished 169th with a time of 32:07.0 while senior Ty McCormack clocked a 32:38.6 to finish 204th at the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday at the Lavern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind.
"It was a tough day for us," head coach Mark Carroll said. "I don't think we were fully recovered from last week's race at the NCAA Regional, but nevertheless, I am still proud of Ty and Kane for the season that they had this year."
Grimster earned his way to the NCAA Championships after finishing eighth at the NCAA South Regional with a time of 30:33.1. The Victoria, Australia native earned his second-consecutive All-SEC honor, finishing ninth at the SEC Championships.
McCormack concluded his cross country career with four wins in the 2014 campaign, including a win at the NCAA South Regional. McCormack was runner-up at the SEC Championships and was named SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year and USTFCCCA South Region Runner of the Year.
