Fraser McKean won his second title of the week at the LSU Diving Invitational

BATON ROUGE, La. - Auburn senior Fraser McKean picked up his second win at the LSU Diving Invitational this week, taking the title on the 3-meter springboard Tuesday at the LSU Natatorium.

McKean was the only diver to score over 400 points in the final, taking first with a score of 404.15. The win marked his fifth-straight victory on the 3-meter springboard, recording his second-best score of the year. Pete Turnham took fifth overall with a six-dive list of 328.10.

"It was another solid job form Fraser. Anytime you score over 400 in a final, that's a good performance," diving coach Jeff Shaffer said, afterwards. "He hit his back 2 ½ pike and just competed well in the final. Pete had another solid day. He broke out his inward 3 ½ for the first time in competition and it was good to see him step up."

On the women's side, freshman Madeline Cox was fourth overall at 247.30, a season-best on the 1-meter. Cinzia Calabretta was eighth with a score of 227.80 in the final. The senior qualified fourth in the prelims with a six-dive list of 255.40.

"Other than one dive, Cinzia was pretty solid. Maddie added a new dive to her list and I thought she showed improvement from the prelims to finals. We've just got to keep training and working hard to get better," Shaffer said.

Auburn's divers will wrap up the competition and its fall schedule on Wednesday with a one-list platform final starting at 11 a.m. Live results can be found at DiveMeets.com.
