PINEHURST, N.C. - Auburn freshman Ben Schlottman won the Country Club of North Carolina Amateur with a 4-under 212, four shots ahead of runner-up and Tigers teammate sophomore Will Long on Friday.
Schlottman of Advance, N.C., closed the final two rounds with a pair of 2-under 70s after opening with an even par 72. Long of Gastonia, N.C., who was tied with Schlottman entering the final round after a pair of 71s, shot a final round 74 to finish second.
