KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Auburn's Fraser McKean led the way for the Tigers on the second day of action at the Tennessee Diving Invitational, placing second in the men's 3-meter springboard final on Sunday at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.
The senior scored 364.05 in the 12-diver final during the second day of competition. McKean qualified as the No. 3 seed in the men's 3-meter final, posting a 377.55 in the morning session.
Freshman Pete Turnham also advanced to the finals for the second straight day. The Auburn, Ala., native posted a 288.75 in the afternoon session. In Sunday's prelims, Turnham turned in one his best lists of the season, recording a 331.05.
On the women's side, Cinzia Calabretta went 257.55 in the 1-meter final to place ninth overall. The senior snuck into the final taking 12th in the prelims, scoring 251.65 in the morning session.
Carly Scheper was Auburn's top qualifier in the women's 1-meter prelim for the Tigers, finishing ninth with a six-dive list of 258.90. The junior finished 10th overall in the final with a 253.35.
Auburn's divers will climb to the platform for the final day of action at the Tennessee Diving Invitational. The men's final is set to begin at 10:30 a.m. CT and the women's final will start at 1 p.m. Live scoring for Monday's action can be found at DiveMeets.com.
