AUBURN, Ala. - Jordan Ebert was 3-for-3 with three RBI as Auburn took the series with a 13-2 win over Binghamton on Sunday at Plainsman Park.
The junior from Foley, Ala. reached base five times on the day and drove in runs in the sixth inning on an RBI single followed by two more on a single in the eighth inning.
Junior outfielder Bo Decker also had a big day at the plate with three RBI. Anfernee Grier had two hits out of the leadoff spot. Cody Nulph, JJ Shaffer, Hunter Tackett and Kyler Deese each drove in a run.
Alex Polston finished the day with two RBI.
Auburn starter Rocky McCord tossed five innings allowing just three hits and one unearned run. He struck out four with three walks.
Robby Clements (1-0) got the win, the first of his career, for Auburn with three innings of relief work. He scattered four hits with one strikeout and one run allowed.
Binghamton starter Rob Hardy was strong through five innings (three hits, four strikeouts), but four Bearcat relievers allowed the 13 runs. Casey Wenzel (0.0 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 BB) was charged with the loss after not recording an out.
Justin Camp struck out the side in the ninth to finish the game.
Auburn is in action next on Tuesday at South Alabama. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
