AUBURN, Ala. -- Auburn held Arkansas below its season average but struggled to score points of its own in a 54-36 loss to the Razorbacks Sunday at Auburn Arena.

Junior Tra'Cee Tanner led Auburn with 12 points and seven rebounds, but the Tigers shot a season-low 23.7 percent from the field in the game. Arkansas countered with a 42.6-percent shooting day.

"I really think we're a much better team than what we showed today," Auburn head coach Terri Williams-Flournoy said. "We didn't shoot the ball extremely well, and not shooting the ball really hurt us."

The teams traded the lead several times in the first half, with Auburn leading 15-13 at the under-8 media timeout. But a 7-0 run by Arkansas made it 20-15 Razorbacks, giving them the lead for good. Arkansas would finish the first half on a 10-3 run to take a 30-21 lead at the break.

Neydja Petithomme scored seven points for Auburn, and Jessica Jones added five. Arkansas narrowly won the rebounding battle, 40-38.

Jessica Jackson led Arkansas with 18 points, and Jhasmin Bowen added 17.

Auburn returns to action Thursday night as Ole Miss visits Auburn Arena. Tip is set for 8 p.m., and the game will be televised by Fox Sports Net.
