AUBURN, Ala. - Blake Logan and Cody Nulph both had two hits and two RBI as Auburn baseball defeated Jacksonville State 6-4 on Friday at Plainsman Park.

Auburn closer Justin Camp got the final out on a diving catch by right fielder Jordan Ebert in a bases loaded situation to secure his third save of the season and give the Tigers (8-2) their sixth-straight win after JSU had scored two in the frame.

Auburn fell behind 2-0 through the first four innings on a bases loaded walk to Tyler Gamble in the first and a RBI single by Elliot McCummings in the fourth.

The Tigers came roaring back in the sixth inning with three runs to take a 3-2 lead. Nulph plated two on a RBI double over the head of the centerfielder, then Logan doubled to score two more.

In the eighth, Nulph homered to lead off the inning for his second home run of the season. Logan doubled again and was brought home on another double by Anfernee Grier for the 6-2 advantage.

Grier finished the day 2-for-4 with one run, one RBI and one stolen base. He extended his hitting streak to a career-high 12 games.

Ebert walked in the first inning to stretch his reached base streak to 10 games. Nulph and Hunter Tackett, Nulph and Ebert also had steals on the game.

Will Thompson (1-0) got the first win of his collegiate career with 1.1 innings of scoreless work. He struck out two in relief of starter Trey Wingenter (3.1 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 6 K).

JSU's Joe McGuire took the loss after allowing two runs with two walks in one-third of an inning. Starter Zachary Fowler (5.1 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 4 BB, 5 K) took a no decision.

Clayton Daniel and McCummings both had two hits to lead the Gamecocks.

Auburn is in action next on Saturday when it faces No. 10 Oklahoma State at 3 p.m. Jacksonville State squares off with Western Illinois at 7 p.m.
