COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Anfernee Grier had his 10th multi-hit game of the season, but No. 6 Texas A&M defeated Auburn baseball 10-4 on Saturday at Blue Bell Park.

Auburn (13-5) struck for a pair of runs in the first inning as a part of a four-hit frame. Cody Nulph and Blake Logan both came through with two-out RBI base hits to left field as the Tigers jumped on top 2-0.

McCord worked out of jams in both the first and second innings, but was unable to wiggle out of trouble in the third. Texas A&M scored three runs in the inning on a pair of RBI singles and a run-scoring groundout as Auburn fell behind 3-2.

The senior walked two, hit a batter and allowed two hits in the inning. McCord (1-1) took the loss after 4.1 innings with four runs allowed on five hits and five walks with two strikeouts.

The Tigers had a big chance in the fifth inning with the bases loaded and no outs, but pinch hitter Bo Decker struck out and Nulph lined into a double play to end inning with no runs coming across.

The Aggies added three runs in the fifth inning as Ronnie Gideon singled to left to drive in two and Auburn trailed 6-2. Blake Allemand drove in another run on a fielder's choice that was fielded impressively by Damon Haecker and flipped to second for an out.

Gideon paced the Texas A&M offense with a 2-for-3 afternoon with two RBI.

Auburn narrowly missed a triple play in the seventh inning as a 6-4-3 double play was turned and first baseman Daniel Robert threw home on a base runner breaking to the plate, but runner JB Moss slid in under the tag to plate Texas A&M's seventh run as it widened the deficit to 7-2.

The Aggies scored three times and stretched their lead to 10-2 in the eighth on a bases loaded single by Logan Taylor that scored a pair and a sacrifice fly by Moss. Auburn came back with two runs in the ninth on RBI singles by pinch hitter Kyler Deese and Grier for the final margin.

Matt Kent (5-0) earned the victory for Texas A&M with 8.1 innings as he allowed four runs on 10 hits. He struck out seven and did not issue a walk as the Aggies won their 20th consecutive game to open the 2015 season.

Grier was 3-for-4 with an RBI and Ebert had two hits to lead the Tigers at the plate.

Auburn and Texas A&M play the final game of the series on Sunday at 1:05 p.m.
