IOWA CITY, Iowa - Auburn's 200 medley relay team and senior diver Fraser McKean collected top-8 finishes Friday to conclude the second day of action at the 2015 NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships at the Campus Wellness and Recreation Center.

Auburn tweaked its 200 medley relay lineup for the championship final as the team of Kyle Darmody, Michael Duderstadt, Arthur Mendes and Jacob Molacek clocked a time of 1:24.03 to take fifth overall, dropping time from its prelim swim.

"I thought our 200 medley relay performed well tonight and dropped time once again to place fifth," head coach Brett Hawke said. "I thought the guys competed hard and put up their best time of the season when it mattered."

In diving, McKean became the first Auburn diver to earn first team All-America honors since 2010 by scoring 442.35 in the six-dive final to set a new personal best. The senior's sixth-place performance is the best finish by an Auburn diver in the event since Kelly Marx placed second on the 3-meter springboard at the 2009 NCAA Championships.

"I was really happy with my performance in prelims," McKean said, afterwards. "Finishing eighth to get in the final was an accomplishment in itself with how deep this field is. I just wanted to come out and have fun tonight since it was my last 3-meter competition at Auburn."

Duderstadt finished as the runner-up in the 100 breast consolation final to place 10th overall for the Tigers. The sophomore clocked a 52.19 in the B-final Friday night after swimming the second-best time in school history at 51.83 in the prelim session.

Mendes also took 15th overall in the 100 fly consolation final to earn honorable mention All-America honors with a time of 46.41.

The Tigers closed out the night with a 6:20.62 from Hugo Morris, Darmody, Mendes and Joe Patching in the 800 freestyle relay timed final earning a 10th-place finish in the event.

Auburn remains in eighth place with 131 points in the team standings heading into the third and final day of action at the NCAA Championships. Texas holds a 124-point lead over California at the top of the standings, 399-275. Michigan is third with 210, followed by Florida in fourth with 205 and USC with 197 points to round out the top-5.

Saturday's final day of competition begins at 11 a.m. CT in Iowa City with preliminaries for the 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, 400 freestyle relay and platform diving.
