ATHENS, Ga. - The Auburn women's golf team dropped a pair of matches Saturday at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Championship, falling to Purdue and Stanford at the UGA Golf Course.
Purdue eked out a 3-2 win in the morning match, and Stanford downed the Tigers by a 3-1 score in the afternoon match.
In the morning match, Auburn earned a pair of individual victories. Freshman Sophia Schubert defeated Purdue's August Kim, 1 up, and junior Alex Harrell closed out Purdue's Aurora Kan in 16 holes, 3 and 2.
Senior Victoria Trapani earned Auburn's lone win in the afternoon session, defeating Stanford's Lauren Kim, 2 up.
Auburn will close out the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic on Sunday with a match against Alabama. The match is slated to begin at 8:20 a.m. CT on the No. 10 tee, and live scoring will be available at birdiefire.com.
