Tigers wrap up play at Darius Rucker Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - The Auburn women's golf team concluded play at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate on Sunday, tying for 14th place at the Long Cove Club.

The Tigers posted a score of 298-307-303=908 (+56) at the par 71, 6,221-yard Pete Dye Course and tied with North Carolina in both the overall total and final-round score. Auburn was short-handed for the final round as sophomore Clara Baena was forced to withdraw with an injury after just a few holes.

"It was a very fair day," Auburn head coach Kim Evans said. "It was unfortunate that Clara had to withdraw. We needed her play and intensity today."

Junior Alex Harrell led Auburn for the week, tying for 28th place at 11-over. She shot a final-round 77 on Sunday. Freshman Sophia Schubert had Auburn's best final-round score with a 74 (+3) that included a pair of birdies. She would tie for 58th overall. Freshman Kelli Murphy was one shot back of Schubert on the day with a 74, giving moving her into a tie for 47th, and senior Victoria Trapani shot a final-round 77.

Duke captured the team title at 858 (+6), and the Blue Devils' Leona Maguire and LSU's Madelene Sagstrom - the only two players in the field under par - tied for medalist honors at 6-under 207.
