BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Auburn baseball was eliminated from the 2015 SEC Baseball Tournament on Thursday with an 11-2 loss to Florida at the Hoover Met.

"Reflecting on the tournament, the kids did a really good job of coming in winning and playing hard-fought contests," Auburn head coach Sunny Golloway said. "Really two innings - the six run inning against LSU yesterday and the eight run inning today. That's tough for any team to overcome."

JJ Schwarz's sac fly to right put the Gators on top 1-0 in the second. In the third Florida stretched its lead with eight two-out runs to chase Auburn starter Dalton Rentz (L, 3-4). The junior allowed eight runs (four earned) on seven hits in 1.2 innings pitched.

Florida (41-16) added two more off reliever Robby Clements to take a 9-0 lead at the end of the third.

Clements pitched 3.1 innings and allowed three runs with five strikeouts and no walks. Justin Camp pitched 2.1 innings with two strikeouts. Will Thompson got the final two outs

The Gators scored two more in the sixth on RBI singles by Josh Tobias and Peter Alonso.

Tobias was 4-for-5 with two RBIs. Alonso drove in three with three hits.

Logan Shore (7-6) got the win for the Gators with 7.2 innings, seven strikeouts and no walks.

Austin Murphy plated a run for Auburn in the fourth with a RBI single to center that scored Melvin Gray. The Tigers added another run in the sixth as Grier tripled, then came home on a groundout by Gray.

Gray had a double, an RBI and his 18th stolen base. Daniel Robert had two hits.

The Tigers (35-24) will now await a NCAA Regional bid on Monday.
